description

Dell Container Storage Modules (CSM) Operator versions before 1.18.0 are affected by improper privilege management in the ContainerStorageModule Custom Resource reconciler. A remote attacker who already has low-privileged access could elevate privileges and obtain root-level access on cluster nodes.

mitigation

Upgrade Dell CSM Operator to version 1.18.0 or later. Restrict low-privileged remote access to affected clusters until the upgrade is complete.

fixed in 1.18.0 or later
