description

openEQUELLA versions earlier than 2026.1 allow scripts to invoke operating-system commands without executable restrictions. An attacker who can create or modify scripts may run commands using the permissions assigned to the openEQUELLA service account.

mitigation

Upgrade openEQUELLA to version 2026.1 or later. Until upgraded, restrict script creation and editing to trusted administrators and review existing scripts.

fixed in 2026.1
