description

Ring versions before 1.15.5 can consume excessive CPU while parsing request parameter names through the nested-params middleware. A remote attacker may cause denial of service with specially formed query-string or request-body parameter names when an application uses wrap-nested-params, including through Ring-Defaults.

mitigation

Upgrade the Ring package to version 1.15.5 or later. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, disable or avoid wrap-nested-params where application requirements permit.

fixed in 1.15.5

automationDeterministic: a check that runs on its own, the same request on every target. Contextual: an agentic technique that needs to be applied per target, for bugs that depend on contextual flows.

auth requiredWhether an attacker needs an account first, based on the CVSS vector's Privileges Required.
