description

WordPress releases before 6.8.6, 6.9.5, or 7.0.2 inadequately sanitize the WP_Query author__not_in parameter. An attacker may trigger SQL injection when a plugin or theme supplies untrusted input to that parameter.

mitigation

Upgrade WordPress 6.8.x to 6.8.6 or later, 6.9.x to 6.9.5 or later, or 7.0.x to 7.0.2 or later. Until upgraded, prevent plugins and themes from passing untrusted request data to WP_Query author__not_in.

fixed in 6.8.6, 6.9.5, 7.0.2
