description

ReadyMedia (MiniDLNA) 1.3.0 through 1.3.3 mishandles size data while parsing DFF audio files. An attacker able to place a crafted DFF file in a directory monitored by the service can cause memory corruption, potentially leading to code execution or service disruption. Automatic file monitoring and attacker write access to scanned media directories are required.

mitigation

Prevent untrusted users and services from writing DFF files to directories monitored by ReadyMedia, and remove or isolate untrusted DFF content from its media library. Restrict write access to scanned directories and run the service with least privilege until an upstream fixed release is available.
