description

OpenSSH sshd versions before 10.6p2 may incorrectly accept authentication for some accounts on Linux systems using musl libc without PAM. A remote unauthenticated attacker may bypass normal password verification when password authentication is enabled and the affected account configuration is present.

mitigation

Upgrade OpenSSH to 10.6p2 or later. Until the upgrade is complete, disable password-based SSH authentication on affected musl-based systems without PAM where operationally feasible.

fixed in 10.6p2
