description

Trusted Remote Execution deployments using Rex-RO or Rex-RW SSM documents generated by the example provisioning script are affected. An authenticated user allowed to run one of those documents may run commands with root privileges on a managed instance and circumvent Cedar policy controls.

mitigation

Upgrade rust rex-runner to version 0.1.0. Remove Rex-RO and Rex-RW SSM documents created by the example script from every affected account and Region.

fixed in 0.1.0
