description

CESNET ipfixcol2 versions before 2.9.0 are affected by a heap buffer overflow in LZ4 decoding. An unauthenticated network peer can send malformed input that corrupts collector memory and can crash the service; exposure requires the collector to accept that peer's network traffic.

mitigation

Upgrade ipfixcol2 to version 2.9.0 or later. Until upgraded, restrict network access to the collector to trusted peers.

fixed in 2.9.0
