description

Mistune versions 3.3.0 through 3.3.3 are affected by excessive CPU use during emphasis-delimiter parsing. A remote attacker can cause worker stalls or reduced availability by supplying specially formed Markdown. Exploitation requires the application to parse Markdown from an attacker-controlled source.

mitigation

Upgrade the mistune package to version 3.3.4 or later. Until upgraded, limit or disable processing of untrusted Markdown and apply request size and execution-time limits.

fixed in 3.3.4
