description

BTCPay Server versions before 2.4.2, including 2.4.2 release candidates, can expose macaroon credentials for an associated LND node. A remote unauthenticated attacker may use a recovered credential to control that node and move its funds when the affected service is reachable.

mitigation

Upgrade BTCPay Server to version 2.4.2. Replace LND macaroons for affected deployments and review the LND node for unauthorized activity.

fixed in 2.4.2
