description

joserfc versions before 1.7.5 process every recipient in a JWE General JSON message without a recipient-count limit. An unauthenticated attacker can drive excessive CPU use by submitting such messages to an endpoint that decrypts JWE input with an RSA key-management algorithm.

mitigation

Upgrade joserfc to version 1.7.5 or later. Until upgraded, restrict unauthenticated access to affected JWE decryption endpoints and enforce request-size or recipient-count limits upstream.

fixed in 1.7.5
