description

minimatch releases before 11.0.1 can use excessive CPU and memory when compiling certain untrusted glob patterns. An attacker must be able to supply a glob pattern to an application using optimization level 2 or higher.

mitigation

Upgrade minimatch to version 11.0.1 or later. Until upgraded, do not compile untrusted glob patterns with optimization level 2 or higher.

fixed in 11.0.1

outcome

Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
