CVE-2026-118669
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.GHSA-7984-qgvg-3j9c ↗EUVD-2026-112488 ↗
description
OAuthlib versions before 4.0.0 can authorize client_credentials and password token requests using a client identity different from the authenticated client. An attacker with valid credentials for a lower-privilege confidential client may obtain tokens with another client's permitted grants or scopes when the deployment's validator authorizes using the client_id argument.
mitigation
Upgrade OAuthlib to version 4.0.0 or later. Until upgraded, make validators derive grant and scope authorization exclusively from the authenticated request.client identity and reject mismatched client identifiers.
fixed in 4.0.0
outcome
Contextual, not validated: no deterministic check could cover this one, and no technique passed our review.
