description

Ecto before 3.14.3 can retain unbounded query-cache entries and, when using ecto_sql, database prepared statements. An unauthenticated attacker may exhaust application or database memory if request-controlled JSON path values or list lengths are interpolated into affected queries that use the default query cache.

mitigation

Upgrade Ecto to version 3.14.3. Until upgraded, validate externally supplied values before interpolation, pass JSON paths as query parameters, or disable query caching for affected queries.

fixed in 3.14.3
