description

GiveWP for WordPress through version 4.19.1 can allow a user with GiveWP Manager-level settings access to assign elevated roles to newly created donor accounts. Exploitation requires an authenticated account able to manage GiveWP settings.

mitigation

Restrict the GiveWP Manager role and remove settings-management access from untrusted accounts; disable or limit donor registration where practical. Review the configured default donor role and audit recently created donor accounts for unexpected privileged roles.
