description

FreeSWITCH releases before 1.11.2 are affected by a heap buffer overflow during XML decoding. An unauthenticated attacker able to reach a SIP profile with presence management enabled and DTD processing allowed can corrupt heap memory and terminate the FreeSWITCH process, disrupting active calls.

mitigation

Upgrade FreeSWITCH to version 1.11.2 or later. Until upgrading, restrict access to affected SIP profiles and disable DTD processing or presence management where operationally feasible.

fixed in >= 1.11.2
