description

Barracuda Email Security Gateway versions before 9.4.0.030 are affected by an authentication bypass in configuration import. An unauthenticated remote attacker can alter the appliance's global configuration by restoring a crafted compatible backup archive.

Still under analysis: more detail becomes available as the pipeline runs.

mitigation

Upgrade Barracuda Email Security Gateway to version 9.4.0.030 or later. Restrict network access to the appliance's management and configuration-import interfaces until the upgrade is complete.

fixed in 9.4.0.030
