description

Relevanssi for WordPress versions through 4.28.5 can retain attacker-supplied script content that may run in a visitor's browser. Exposure requires both comment indexing and comment highlighting to be enabled, and a visitor must open an affected singular page through a highlighted search-result link.

mitigation

Disable comment indexing or comment highlighting to reduce exposure immediately. Update to a vendor release that addresses the issue when one is identified; the evidence does not name a fixed version.

Upstream: a detection for this already ships elsewhere, so we didn't generate a new one. The credit goes to whoever did.
