description

XS::libbrotli versions before 1.2.1.0 include a vulnerable bundled Brotli decoder that can also affect dependent XS modules built against it. An attacker who can provide Brotli-compressed untrusted input to such a module may cause memory disclosure, a process crash, or potentially code execution.

mitigation

Upgrade XS::libbrotli to version 1.2.1.0 or later, then rebuild dependent XS modules so they link the updated bundled decoder. Do not rely solely on an operating system Brotli update.

fixed in 1.2.1.0
