description

Affected Etherpad-lite installations on POSIX-like hosts can allow an unauthenticated remote client to read files accessible to the Etherpad process through the static-file handler. Exposed secrets may permit additional administrative or server-level compromise; the attacker needs network access to the Etherpad HTTP service.

mitigation

Upgrade npm package etherpad-lite to version 3.3.3 or later. Until upgraded, limit access to the Etherpad HTTP service to trusted networks and clients.

fixed in 3.3.3
