description

LocalAI versions 4.6.0 through 4.11.0 are affected by server-side request forgery in gallery configuration fetching. An unauthenticated attacker able to reach the model-apply endpoint can cause the service to request redirected internal or cloud metadata addresses and receive their responses.

Still under analysis: more detail becomes available as the pipeline runs.

mitigation

Restrict access to the model-apply endpoint to trusted users and networks, and block LocalAI outbound access to internal address ranges and cloud metadata endpoints. Upgrade when a vendor-fixed release is available; no fixed version is recorded in the advisory.
