description

Security Plugin, Firewall & Malware Scanner with Auto Removal for WordPress versions before 2.191 improperly accepts authenticator-app codes without verifying the account password. An attacker who possesses a user's current authenticator code can log in as that user, including as an administrator, without knowing the password.

mitigation

Update the WordPress plugin to version 2.191 or later. Until updated, limit access to valid authenticator codes and review accounts protected by the plugin's two-factor authentication.

fixed in 2.191

Upstream: a detection for this already ships elsewhere, so we didn't generate a new one. The credit goes to whoever did.
