description

SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway versions before 15.1.1 inadequately verify ownership during password recovery for created but unregistered GINA accounts with an empty initial password. A remote unauthenticated attacker who can identify an affected account may reset its password, access the account, and prevent its intended recipient from completing recovery.

mitigation

Upgrade SEPPmail Secure Email Gateway to version 15.1.1 or later. Until upgrades are complete, reduce exposure by identifying and securing eligible unregistered GINA accounts.

fixed in 15.1.1
