CVE-2026-114135
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.GHSA-354v-3q48-cv69 ↗EUVD-2026-107544 ↗
description
Jupyter Server gateway deployments using versions 2.0.0 through 2.5.0 may fail to enforce configured kernel-execution permissions on WebSocket connections. An authenticated user denied kernel execution can access an upstream kernel when GatewayClient.url is enabled and a restrictive custom Authorizer is in use, potentially reaching data or credentials available to that kernel.
mitigation
Upgrade jupyter-server to version 2.6.0 or later. Do not manually register the deprecated jupyter_server.gateway.handlers module, and verify that gateway WebSocket traffic uses the standard authorization path.
fixed in 2.6.0
outcome
Check only, differential: the check fires on the vulnerable build and is silent on the patched one.
