description

Argo CD versions 2.7.0 and later may interpret a remote Kustomize reference as a Git option while generating manifests. An attacker who can cause a Kustomization to be processed through an Application repository or server-side manifest generation may execute commands as the repo-server user and access data available to that process.

mitigation

Upgrade github.com/argoproj/argo-cd/v3 to 3.3.15, 3.4.10, 3.5.4, 3.6.0-rc2 or later.

fixed in 3.3.15, 3.4.10, 3.5.4, 3.6.0-rc2

outcome

Check only, differential: the check fires on the vulnerable build and is silent on the patched one.
