description

Argo CD releases from 0.9.0 onward can allow Jsonnet imports to access files outside the application repository using the repo-server's permissions. An attacker able to have a Jsonnet file processed, including through an eligible application or manifest-generation request, may read accessible sensitive files or exhaust repo-server resources.

mitigation

Upgrade github.com/argoproj/argo-cd/v3 to 3.3.15, 3.4.10, 3.5.4, 3.6.0-rc2 or later.

fixed in 3.3.15, 3.4.10, 3.5.4, 3.6.0-rc2

outcome

Contextual: an exploit technique exists, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
