description

Pillow releases before 13.0.0 can pass an attacker-controlled EPS filename to Ghostscript in a form that Ghostscript may interpret as command-line input. An attacker who can control the filename supplied to Pillow's image-opening path can inject Ghostscript arguments; command execution also requires control of a referenced argument file.

mitigation

Upgrade Pillow to version 13.0.0 or later. Until upgraded, do not process EPS files whose filenames are attacker-controlled.

fixed in 13.0.0
