description

Pillow versions before 13.0.0 can access memory outside a row buffer when morphology functions process a zero-width PPM or PGM image. An attacker may crash the application and potentially cause memory corruption if they can supply an image that the application passes to a morphology operation.

mitigation

Upgrade Pillow to version 13.0.0 or later. Until upgraded, reject zero-width PPM and PGM images and avoid applying morphology operations to untrusted images.

fixed in 13.0.0
