description

phpMyFAQ versions before 4.1.9 improperly authorize deletion of superadmin accounts through its user-deletion API. An authenticated non-superadmin user with permission to delete users can remove a superadmin account, disrupting administrative access and accountability.

mitigation

Upgrade phpMyFAQ to version 4.1.9 or later. Until upgraded, restrict the delete-user permission to trusted superadministrators and review accounts holding that permission.

fixed in 4.1.9
