description

MacCMS v10 through 2026.1000.4056 does not adequately limit verification attempts during password recovery. An unauthenticated attacker who knows a member's email address or phone number could reset that member's password and take over the account.

mitigation

Until a vendor update is available, protect password-recovery requests with reverse-proxy or WAF rate limits keyed to both source and account identifiers. Monitor recovery activity for repeated failed verification attempts and investigate affected accounts.
