description

Siemens Software Center versions earlier than 4.0.9.8 use an uncontrolled DLL search path. An authenticated local attacker able to place a DLL in a directory searched by the application can execute code with the application's privileges.

mitigation

Update Siemens Software Center to version 4.0.9.8 or later. Ensure deployed installations receive the update at their next startup or install the current release directly.

fixed in V4.0.9.8
