description

Wheels versions 1.1.8 through 4.1.1 contain SQL injection flaws in several dynamic finder and query-builder interfaces. An attacker may alter database queries or access protected data when application-controlled request values are passed into those interfaces; the related whereBetween case affects string or date bounds on MySQL or MariaDB configurations using backslash escaping.

mitigation

Upgrade Wheels to version 4.1.2. Until upgrading, prevent untrusted request values from reaching dynamic finder, key-lookup, validation, and query-builder APIs.

fixed in 4.1.2
