description

HAProxy Data Plane API 2.2.0 through 3.4.3, including corresponding Enterprise Edition releases, can disable authentication for HTTP or UNIX-domain management listeners under a particular TLS configuration. An unauthenticated attacker who can reach one of those listeners may gain administrative API access and read or replace HAProxy configuration data.

mitigation

Upgrade to 3.4.4, 3.3.9, 3.2.17, 3.0.25, or 2.9.29 as applicable; for Enterprise Edition, install the corresponding backport. Until upgraded, disable or tightly restrict access to HTTP and UNIX-domain management listeners that are not protected by mutual TLS.
