description

User Profile Builder for WordPress through 4.0.3 can assign an attacker-controlled role during account activation. An unauthenticated attacker may obtain an administrator account when open registration and email confirmation are enabled and a legacy registration field named "role" remains on a public registration form.

mitigation

Remove or rename legacy registration fields whose meta-name is "role", and disable open registration or the affected public registration form until the plugin is updated to a vendor-fixed release. Review recently created administrator accounts and registration settings.
