description

User Rights Access Manager versions through 1.1.3 are affected by an access-control flaw in an account-registration AJAX handler. An unauthenticated attacker may create an account with administrator-equivalent permissions and take control of the WordPress site. Exploitation requires the affected plugin and its vulnerable registration handler to be reachable.

mitigation

Disable User Rights Access Manager until a vendor-fixed release is available. If it must remain enabled, restrict unauthenticated access to its account-registration AJAX handler and review WordPress accounts for unexpected administrator-equivalent users.
