description

hyper-mcp through 0.8.3 may accept WebAssembly plugin images signed by untrusted identities because its default signature checks do not constrain the signer or issuer. An attacker able to control a plugin image reference could load a malicious plugin with the host, filesystem, and environment access granted to plugins.

mitigation

Configure plugin signature verification to allow only approved signer identities and OIDC issuers, and restrict who can change plugin image references. Do not permit untrusted plugin images until a fixed release is available.
