description

Hestia Control Panel 1.9.7 through 1.10.4 mishandles custom document-root values when processing web-domain configuration. A low-privileged authenticated panel user with a web domain can manipulate PATH resolution during a privileged search operation and execute code as root.

mitigation

Upgrade Hestia Control Panel to version 1.10.5 or later. Until upgraded, restrict untrusted users’ access to panel accounts that can manage web domains or custom document roots.

fixed in 1.10.5
