description

Hitachi Vantara Remot Ops Agent is affected when its default self-signed web certificate is still configured. An attacker may bypass authentication and obtain administrative access, enabling actions such as service configuration changes or log collection requests.

mitigation

Replace the default self-signed web certificate with a unique certificate and key, and rotate any credentials or tokens that may be affected. No fixed version is recorded; restrict access to the web interface until the default certificate is replaced.

outcome

Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
