description

ILIAS releases before 9.24, 10.12, and 11.5 are affected by argument injection in assImagemapQuestionGUI. A question author may be able to turn a crafted uploaded image filename into server-side code execution.

mitigation

Upgrade ILIAS to 9.24, 10.12, or 11.5, as appropriate for the deployed major version. Until updated, restrict untrusted users from authoring imagemap questions or uploading images for them.

fixed in 9.24, 10.12, 11.5
