description

Excelize versions 2.3.1 through 2.11.0 can panic while processing malformed encrypted spreadsheet files. An unauthenticated attacker can terminate a service that opens untrusted workbooks through the library's file, reader, or byte-input APIs.

mitigation

Update github.com/xuri/excelize/v2 to 2.11.1-0.20260915055537-22f76f9acb94 or later. Until upgraded, avoid sending untrusted spreadsheets to affected Excelize parsing paths.
