description

excelize versions before 2.11.1-0.20260930021559-01a9ff32fb3c can consume CPU excessively while reading a worksheet with an invalid, very large row number. An attacker can tie up a processing worker by supplying a crafted workbook when the application accepts untrusted spreadsheets and uses File.GetRows or the Rows iterator.

mitigation

Upgrade github.com/xuri/excelize/v2 to 2.11.1-0.20260930021559-01a9ff32fb3c or later. Until upgraded, restrict or isolate processing of untrusted workbooks that use File.GetRows or Rows iteration.
