description

The optional Amazon Q Business Lambda hook sample for QnABot on AWS 7.0.0 through 7.4.5 has an authorization bypass involving a user-controlled key. An authenticated remote user could access S3 objects in the deploying AWS account if this separately deployed sample hook is in use; deployments without the hook are not affected.

mitigation

Upgrade the QnABot on AWS stack to version 7.4.6 or later, then redeploy the Amazon Q Business Lambda hook sample stack. Do not rely on the QnABot stack upgrade alone, as it does not update the separately deployed hook.

fixed in 7.4.6
