description

Consul and Consul Enterprise versions 1.17.0 through 2.0.4 are affected by an authorization flaw in the agent service-mesh leaf-certificate API. A requester without a valid ACL token may obtain a cached service leaf certificate and its private key when such cached certificate material is available.

mitigation

Upgrade Consul and Consul Enterprise to version 2.1.0. Restrict network access to Consul agent APIs until upgrades are complete.

fixed in 2.1.0
