description

Bandit versions 1.4.0 and later can retain HTTP/2 response-handling processes and associated application state longer than intended. An unauthenticated remote client can consume processes and memory by keeping flow-controlled responses from completing; the service must accept HTTP/2 connections and produce responses that become blocked by flow control.

mitigation

Update mtrudel/bandit to commit d88b21953c65061f21136ea76a89a4f95a2ac7a1 or a release that includes it. Until updated, restrict or disable HTTP/2 access where operationally feasible and apply connection and resource limits at the edge.
