description

StreamsHub Console deployments can allow a Kubernetes tenant to cause the operator to copy KafkaUser credential material from a different namespace into a Secret the tenant can access. An attacker must be permitted to create Console custom resources, and the operator must have Secret access beyond the tenant's namespace.

mitigation

Upgrade console to 0.12.10 or 0.14.2, as appropriate for the deployed release line. Until a console-operator fix is available, limit Console custom-resource creation to trusted users and restrict the operator's Secret RBAC to only required namespaces.

fixed in 0.12.10, 0.14.2
