description

ZITADEL versions before 3.4.14 and 4.x versions before 4.16.2 are affected in the hosted Login V1 interface. An unauthenticated attacker may cause an account to be associated with a target's external identity and obtain access after the target later signs in through an external identity provider; exposure requires the affected external-account registration flow to be reachable.

mitigation

Upgrade ZITADEL to 3.4.14 or 4.16.2, as appropriate for the deployed release line. Until upgraded, restrict access to the hosted Login V1 external-account registration flow where operationally possible.

fixed in 4.16.2, 3.4.14
