description

Dogtag PKI (pki-core), including Red Hat Certificate System deployments using the affected EST authentication path, can incorrectly grant agent-level authorization during full CMC enrollment. An authenticated EST user may obtain CA-signed certificates for subjects of their choosing when BasicAuth is used without an end-user TLS client certificate.

mitigation

Require end-user TLS client certificates for EST enrollment, and restrict or disable BasicAuth full CMC enrollment until a vendor update is available. Limit EST access to trusted users and networks.
