description

WordPress sites using Mobile builder through version 1.4.2 are affected by an authorization flaw in a profile-settings REST feature. A logged-in user with a low-privilege account may be able to modify account metadata and obtain administrator permissions. Exploitation requires an authenticated account.

mitigation

Deactivate Mobile builder on affected sites, especially where untrusted users can register or log in. Until a corrected release is identified, restrict low-privilege accounts and review administrator-role changes for unexpected modifications.

Upstream: a detection for this already ships elsewhere, so we didn't generate a new one. The credit goes to whoever did.
