description

Kirki for WordPress through version 6.3.2 accepts untrusted serialized data through its import functionality. An authenticated user with import access, including Editors under the default access setting, can inject PHP objects; harmful outcomes additionally depend on another installed plugin or theme supplying a usable object chain.

mitigation

Restrict the Kirki import endpoint to trusted administrators and remove Editor access granted by the default full-access setting. Review installed plugins and themes for deserialization object chains, and update or disable Kirki when a corrected release is available.
