description

Dell PowerProtect Data Domain Feature Release 7.7.1.0 through 8.8 and specified LTS2024, LTS2025, and LTS2026 releases are affected by a stack-based buffer overflow. An unauthenticated attacker may execute commands when they have remote network access to an affected system.

mitigation

Upgrade to PowerProtect Data Domain 8.9.0.0 or later, 7.13.1.90 or later, 8.3.1.50 or later, or 8.6.1.30 or later, as appropriate for the release line. Restrict remote network access to affected systems until upgrades are complete.

fixed in 8.9.0.0 or later, 7.13.1.90 or later, 8.3.1.50 or later, 8.6.1.30 or later

outcome

Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
